Condenser Unit Replacement – Ark Walworth Academy

We successfully replaced a condenser unit serving the kitchen’s freezer room at Ark Walworth Academy. The challenge was to complete the project safely and efficiently over two days with minimal disruption to the school’s operations, ensuring uninterrupted food storage.

Scope of Work

Day 1:

• Safe refrigerant recovery and removal of the old condenser, fully compliant with F-Gas regulations.
• Installation of the new Danfoss condenser unit, including brazing, electrical connections, and leak testing.
• Evaporator modifications: installed a new expansion valve and oil trap to improve system reliability.
• Extended working hours to stabilize freezer room temperature, protecting stored stock.

Day 2:

• Performance monitoring to confirm optimal operation.
• Final system inspection and adjustments.
• Full site cleanup, leaving the area safe and ready for normal use.

Outcome
The freezer room is now operating at peak performance, maintaining the required temperature with improved reliability.
